Don't let your Washington State Summer fun wreck your life with a costly mistake!

Nothing beats the exceptional recreational opportunities of Washington State in the summer!   Washington State summers feature long days and beautiful weather that's comfortably sunny, warm and dry.  Travelers from around the world now visit Washington to enjoy great summer weather, majestic mountain vistas, and excellent local agricultural products.

Washington State produces a world-class selection of fine wines, as well as dozens of handcrafted microbrews you will find offered at ballparks, brewpubs and great local eateries.  Washington ranks second in the United States in the production of wine, behind only California, with exports going to over 40 countries around the world from the 600 wineries located in the state.

The Washington Beer Commission, the first of its kind commodity commission in the United States, was formed in 2006, when the Washington State Legislature authorized the creation of the Beer Commission to promote the state’s microbreweries that are recognized as world-class.

While you enjoy these great local products, be aware that it is against the law in Washington State and all of Washington State for drivers over the age of 21 to operate a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher.  The illegal blood alcohol content level is only a quarter of this strict standard you're nabbed below the legal drinking age of 21.  These laws are strictly enforced by the Washington State Patrol, county Sheriffs statewide and local police officials.

Because you're visiting this site, we suspect that you may have already discovered some of these tough lessons the hard way. AttorneyWashingtonState.com is a free consumer resource with information about driving under the influence in Washington State. This site provides common sense information and does not provide legal advice or representation.  If you need legal advice for a DUI charge in Washington State, speak to an attorney now by calling 800-603-3290.  It's vital that you act promptly to protect your rights and prevent much larger problems.

When a person is arrested for DUI in Washington State they will be given a notice of a civil administrative lawsuit by the Department of Licensing.  This is a legal action that will result in the suspension of the person's driver's license, permit or privilege, if they had a breath test of 0.08 or higher (0.02 or higher for drivers under 21 years of age) or if they allegedly refused a breath test.  This suspension of the driver's license, permit or privilege to drive in Washington may affect anyone arrested, even if they have a License from another State.

You face AUTOMATIC LICENSE SUSPENSION if you fail to request a hearing and pay the hearing fee (or request a fee waiver) within 20 days of your arrest (or within 20 days of receiving notice of a blood test result.  Your license, permit or privilege to drive can be suspended for 90 DAYS, ONE  YEAR, TWO YEARS OR MORE, depending on the person's driving history and whether there is an alleged refusal to submit to the test.

To request a hearing on line, see  http://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/hearingsrequest.html
There are ways to avoid the license suspension but YOU CAN NOT AVOID THE SUSPENSION IF YOU DO NOT REQUEST A HEARING WITHIN 20 DAYS.   Winning administrative suspension cases isn't easy. The rules can make it difficult for the driver.  But, while there are no guarantees, hiring an experienced attorney can improve your odds in a Washington State DUI arrest.

The Department of Licensing will also suspend a person's license, permit or privilege to drive as a result of a criminal conviction.

Trooper’s Arrest 9 Time DUI Offender on $250,000 Warrant

Washington State Patrol (WSP) troopers in King County sought out and arrested a nine-time DUI offender at his residence yesterday in North Bend.

Stefhan Roy Castellano, 48 years old, failed to appear in court on May 5th on his ninth DUI charge. A $250,000 warrant was issued for his arrest. Castellano’s ninth arrest occurred on SR 203 in Duvall on December 28, 2009. Subsequently, a trooper who was in court on an unrelated charge heard the amount of the warrant that was issued and offered to look for Castellano at his residence. At noon on May 8th troopers located Castellano at his residence. Castellano was intoxicated when troopers took him into custody. He was booked into the King County jail.
